GUANGZHOU : “I want to become Jet Li and “Hwang Fey Hoong”

That was the first few words from a young and a happy go lucky Malaysian youth who bid farewell with his 'odd looking face' which he had carried for the passed twenty five year just two days ago.

Tan Kia Khim,25, a coffee shop assistant, from Kampung Berjaya, Alor Star,even can joking with local and Malaysian journalists when they visited him inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Friday(9th June)

With it’s face still covered by bandages, he was in joyous mood answering questions from journalists who were given greenlight to interview him.

He even gestured to a nurse who checking on him by showing a “ghost face” to the nurse just a few hours after the operation yesterday.(8th June)

Kia Khim successfully underwent a four hours tumour surgery starting 9.00am on Thursday to totally remove the ‘elephant face look-alike” tumour in a special operation held at FudaCancerHospital

“I am still strong and very happy that the operation success and thank you to all Malaysian for the moral supports,” he said while still lying on the ICU bed.

His father Tan Seong Meng was beside Kia Khim’s bed with smiles all over his face and holdingthe hands of his son..

He said,” The first thing Kia Khim asked me immediately after the operation is whether he had called his mother about the successful operation,”

“I told him I had already informed his mother and she is happy and didn’t crying,” said Seong Meng.

Fuda Cancer Hospital(FCH) vice-president and associate Proffesor Niu Li-Zhi said,”There are no

abnormal complication shown by Kia Khim after the operation,”

“He is in a very stable condition. The surgical portions of his face with be in edematous status but will return to normal after three days and the bandages will be remove,” said Associate Professor Niu.

Dr. Niu leading a team of four doctors including him , four anesthesia specialists and 3 nurses to performed the operation on Kia Khim’s tumour which completed successfully after four-hours.

“The whole operation went through very very well as in our expectation with no unwanted incident or complication took place,” he added.

When questions about the situation of Hong Siew Hui, he said,”Siew Hui still weak and couldn’t get down from her bed. Her edematous status on the tumour and it’s saiz had increased from one kilogramme to three kilogramme which will eventually reduce to normal saiz in a week or two.”

“She is allow to take fluid type of food and drink milk in order to recover her strength and energy.”he said.
