There were some philippine patients gathering in the meeting room of Fuda Hospital, Guangzhou, China, at the afternoon of June 23, 2010. For the past years, philippines patients in Fuda Hospital were becoming more and more, up to more than 70 people hospitalized at the same period. They often gather in the hospital meeting room or coffee shop. Sometimes they were outside, assisted by the service department of hospital. They talk about the treatment experience or invite priest for prayer. And the meeting this afternoon was some special, they also advised Mr. Glenn F.Corpin, Executive Officer of Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou, and Kecheng Xu, Chief President of Fuda hospital joined them.

 

 

First, Nestor, a Filipino-American, said:" We are all the children of God, we should have a thankful heart , to thank God to give us life, and thank Fuda haspital to gives us hope of new life. And we should transfer this thanks to more people who need help." He said:" All of Philippine patients discharged from Fuda hospital are volunteers. We will let more people know Fuda, know that they can have a new life in here."

 

 

Nestor, 69 years old, retired from senior executive of a company, and lives in California, U.S.A. Six years ago, he reveived chemotherapy and endocrine therapy in America when his prostatic carcinoma concurrent lymph node and bone metastasis were found. Once his condition was controlled, but aggravated later unfortunately. In March 2009, Nestor went to Fuda hospital in Guangzhou, China, then found the cancer almost disappeared when he finished cryosurgery, vascular intervation and immunotherapy. Once he returned to Manila, Philipine, in October, Nestor held a cancer treatment meeting for more than 500 people in the Peninsula Hotel, a best hotel in Manila, and invited Pro. Kecheng Xu and Feng Mu from Fuda hospital for a speech. In the following 3 days, he has been a volunteer to give medical consultation for more than 150 patients. In recent years, Nestor has been engaged in propaganda of cancer treatment, people call him as a "half-doctor".

 

 

This gathering was specially for showing the Philippine Volunteers Website. The website was displayed on a big screen after Nestor's speech. This website with the name as "Philippine Volunteers for Fuda,PVF". It's constructor is a Pilipino-American couple, husband named Mike Dionisio and wife nemed Chonatrivinio DionisioCCC, who was suffered from Ewing's sarcoma of right kidney with lung metastasis concurrency. They constructed the website once Chonatrivinio DionisioCCC discharged from Fuda hospital, to publish the treatment procedure, hospital experience, and special treatment for cancer patients as Nestor.

 

 

What's volunteer? It is defined by UN as" The one who contribute to the world, without considering for personal interest, money or fame". Volunteer is just the one who devote all their time and energy to take on social responsibility initiatively, without requiring for any return. Volunteer is a manifestation of human love. They are not the leader or enducator, but to influence others through all their life. They diliver love, spread civilization, and this love and cililization could be pass on one by one, and eventually become a powerful social stream.

 

 

In our life, money is needed, but neither the only one, nor the most important one, cause  spirit and love play a much more important roles than money, for what we could know from that millions and thousands of years history of volunteers. As I know, Danish patients also open a blog to convey the information of treatment in Fuda hospital and commune treatment experience, which is also finally do good to the "market" of Fuda hospital as what volunteers do.
