This page summarizes the step-by-step procedure to come to Fuda Hospital for cancer treatment.

Step 1:
    Learn more about our hospital, our services, and our reputation by reviewing our website, FAQ, and by downloading our informative brochure.
Step 2:
    Contact us at fudacancer@gmail.com. Please share with us the patient's diagnosis and stage of cancer, medical reports, treatment history and dates, and description of the patient's condition (level of pain, ability to breath, ability to walk, ability to eat). With this information we can review and promtly provide you with a reply, usually within 24 hours.
Step 3:
    After receiving our treatment recommendation, consider and discuss with your family the length of treatment (approximately 30 days), and the cost of treatment. These are decisions that often affect the patient's entire family.
Step 4:
    If you have made the decision to seek treatment at Fuda Hospital, congratulations! Your decision is supported by our experience and the award-winning research of our oncologists. The next step is to provide us with the full names and passport numbers of each person who plans to come to Fuda. Please be sure to note which name is the patient's name. With this information, we will provide you with a visa invitation letter which you can take to the local Chinese embassy or local travel agency. You should get your visa in about 3-4 business days.

Step 5:

Once you have your visas, you can purchase your plane tickets to Guangzhou International Airport (airport code: CAN). When you have your confirmed flight information, please email us your flight number, arrival date and time, and total number of people arriving. Please bring your previous medical records with you. Upon arrival, Fuda Hospital will send a driver and a staff member to pick you up at the airport and bring you straight to the hospital, and to your private patient room.

       Some of the most widely known medical destinations are the medical centers located in Thailand and India. These countries have several high-quality hospitals with good reputations. However, there are inherent risks patients should consider before choosing these locations for your medical care. The governments of both respective countries are highly unstable and susceptible to political up-rise and social unrest. Recently, Thailand’s government has been replaced several times a year. India’s proximity to Pakistan and recent terrorist attacks, are also something to be seriously considered. On the other hand, China’s government has proven to be very stable.

       Unfortunately, medical costs are something that needs to be discussed carefully with the patient and his/her family. Medical costs are specific to a patient’s condition and needs. By contacting us and providing detailed medical information, we can recommend the best course of action, as well as the cost of treatment.

       While some cancer centers require an upfront lump sum payment, we at Fuda realize that paying for treatment is not always quite so easy or quite so fast. At Fuda, we have a pay-as-you-go system. Upon registration, you will be asked to put an adequate amount of cash into a hospital account. Each day’s expenses (tests, medicine, etc.) are deducted on a daily basis from your hospital account. You will receive a daily invoice as well, so that you will know which expenses are being incurred. When your account balance runs low, our staff will give you notice that it is time to add more funds to the account. You can add funds to your account via cash, bank transfer, or credit card.

       Most patients are able to complete their treatment in approximately one month. Occasionally, depending on the needs and condition of the patient, treatment requires 5-6 weeks.

       Guangzhou is a world-class city with numerous hotels, many within a short distance of Fuda Hospital. There is a neighborhood market, a five-minute walk away. Additionally a large supermarket provides a free shuttle from the hospital to their store, thus making buying western foods simple and convenient.

       There are basically three types of rooms: VIP, "A", and "B". VIP rooms are the largest rooms with the most amenities that include a living room, in-room computer, and personal clothes washing machine. "A" rooms are a bit larger than "B" rooms. Larger rooms are more expensive than smaller rooms. However, all rooms are private rooms with private bath, television, internet, and private balcony.     From Guangzhou Airport-
a. When informing Fuda about your flight plans and arrival time, the patient can also make a reservation for a free airport pick-up.
b. If for any reason you would prefer to come to the hospital on your own, from the airport you can take a shuttle bus going to Xin Zhujiang Hotel (leaving every 40 minutes, cost: 23 RMB/person), then take a taxi to Fuda Cancer Hospital (cost: approximately 20 RMB).
c. Take a taxi. If necessary, tell the driver to look for Jude High School South Gate (Jude Zhongxue Nanmen). Fuda Hospital is next to the high school.

From Guangzhou West ("old") Railway Station-
Take Metro (MRT) line 2 to Kecun station. Then take Hao You Duo (Trust-mart) exit.
Take bus # 226 or 250 to Jude Lu bus stop (approximately 5 stops). Fuda Hospital is across the street from the bus stop.

From Guangzhou East ("new") Railway Station-
Take Metro (MRT) line 3 to Kecun station, use the Hao You Duo (Trust-mart) exit.
Take bus # 226 or 250 to Jude Lu bus stop (approximately 5 stops). Fuda Hospital is across the street from the bus stop.

From Sun Yatsen University-
From Sun Yatsen University, take bus #226 or 250 to Jude Road bus stop. Fuda Hospital across the street from the bus stop.

   To Parkshop Supermarket-
From Fuda Hospital, a shuttle bus stop is located directly outside Fuda Cancer Hospital. Shuttles start from 9:15am, once every hour, though no bust at 12:15pm.

To Carrefour Supermaket at Qianjin Road-
The best way is to take a taxi, about a 10-minute drive.

   To Haizhu Square-
Sacred Heart Cathedral is on Yidelu, and is walking distance from Haizhu Square. Mass is delivered in English every Sunday at 3:30pm. To ensure that you will have a seat, it is recommended that you arrive before 3:00pm.
a. Take bus #226 or 250 to Kecun bus stop, then change to bus #131B to Haizhu Square bus stop. Walk about 200 meters to Haizhu Square.
b. Take bus #226 or 250 to Kecun bus stop. Right next to this bus stop is an entrance to the MRT subway station. Take MRT Metro line 2 to Haizhu Square station.

   To Team Mall (Tianhe Cheng)/ Book Store/ Victoria Mall-
a. From Datang bus station take bus number 130 (7 bus stops) to Tianhe Cheng bus stop.

b. From hospital take bus # 226 or 250 to Kecun bus stop (approximately 5 stops). Right next to this bus stop is an entrance to the MRT subway station. Take Metro (MRT) line 3 to Tiyuxilu station.

c. Take a taxi, takes about 15-20 minutes.

To Tianhe Computer Mall-

a. From the hospital, walk 10 minutes to the Datang (not Datang Lukou) bus station. Then, take bus #130 to Tianhe Cheng stop (9 stops). Tianhe Computer Mall is next to it.

b. Take a taxi, takes about 20-25 minutes.

To Beijing Road-

a. From the hospital, walk about 10 minutes to Datang Lukou bus stop. Then, take bus #190 to Beijing Nan bus stop (16 stops), walk to Beijing Road.

b. Take bus #226 or 250 to Kecun bus stop. Right next to this bus stop is an entrance to the MRT subway station. Then take MRT Metro line 2 to Gongyuanqian station. Walk about 500 meters to Beijing Road.

   Absolutely. Cancer screening is an important ritual for anyone from high-risk populations. You are considered “high-risk” if you or your family has a proven history of cancer.    When you arrive at the airport, we will have a staff member who is waiting and who will have a bright pink sign with the patient's name on it. The staff member may speak only limited English, but don't worry, their only job is to guide you to the waiting car that will take you to the hospital (approximately 50 minutes). At the hospital, you will be taken directly to your room, given some instructions from a nurse, and you will meet your doctor first thing in the morning.
