·Question 03: What is the step-by-step procedure for coming to Fuda Hospital for treatment? Worried about traveling overseas for treatment? Don't be. To date, we have treated thousands of patients that come from outside China, and hundreds from western Europe. We have full-time patient services department whose sole jobs are to translate, handle visas, book and alter flight tickets, arrange airport pickups, book hotel accommodations, and arrange finances. ·Question 06: How do I pay for treatment? While some cancer centers require an upfront lump sum payment, we at Fuda realize that paying for treatment is not always quite so easy or quite so fast. At Fuda, we have a pay-as-you-go system. Upon registration, you will be asked to put an adequate amount of cash into a hospital account. Each day’s expenses (tests, medicine, etc.) are deducted on a daily basis from your hospital account. You will receive a daily invoice as well, so that you will know which expenses are being incurred. When your account balance runs low, our staff will give you notice that it is time to add more funds to the account. ·Question 09: Are there hotels and supermarkets nearby? Guangzhou is a world-class city with numerous hotels, many within a short distance of Fuda Hospital. There is a neighborhood market, a five-minute walk away. ·Question 10: What do the hospital rooms look like? There are basically three types of rooms: VIP, "A", and "B". VIP rooms are the largest rooms with the most amenities that include a living room, in-room computer, and personal clothes washing machine. "A" rooms are a bit larger than "B" rooms. Larger rooms are more expensive than smaller rooms. However, all rooms are private rooms with private bath, television, internet, and private balcony. ·Question 11: How do I get to Fuda Cancer Hospital-Guangzhou? From Guangzhou Airport- a. When informing Fuda about your flight plans and arrival time, the patient can also make a reservation for a free airport pick-up. b. If for any reason you would prefer to come to the hospital on your own, from the airport you can take a shuttle bus going to Xin Zhujiang Hotel (leaving every 40 minutes, cost: 23 RMB/person), then take a taxi to Fuda Cancer Hospital (cost: approximately 20 RMB). c. Take a taxi. If necessary, tell the driver to look for Jude High School South Gate (Jude Zhongxue Nanmen). Fuda Hospital is next to the high school. From Guangzhou West ("old") Railway Station- Take Metro (MRT) line 2 to Kecun station. Then take Hao You Duo (Trust-mart) exit. Take bus # 226 or 250 to Jude Lu bus stop (approximately 5 stops). ·Question 13: Are there any Christian churches in Guangzhou? How can I get there? To Haizhu Square- Sacred Heart Cathedral is on Yidelu, and is walking distance from Haizhu Square. Mass is delivered in English every Sunday at 3:30pm. To ensure that you will have a seat, it is recommended that you arrive before 3:00pm. a. ·Question 16: What can I expect when I arrive at the airport?? When you arrive at the airport, we will have a staff member who is waiting and who will have a bright pink sign with the patient's name on it. The staff member may speak only limited English, but don't worry, their only job is to guide you to the waiting car that will take you to the hospital (approximately 50 minutes). At the hospital, you will be taken directly to your room, given some instructions from a nurse, and you will meet your doctor first thing in the morning. |
