On 8th March 2008, Professor Xu was appointed the consultant of Rajawali Hospital of Indonesia. The Letter of engagement was presented to Professor Xu by Dr. Sim Teck Min, the president of the hospital. Dr. Sim, an Indonesian of Chinese origin, studied in the United States of America in his younger days. He received his training in cardio-thorax surgery from the renowned CliffordlandHospital.He founded the Rajawali hospital twenty years ago. He is one of the most reputed cardio surgeons in Indonesia. Dr. Sim has heard of Professor Xu for years and is particularly impressed by Professor Xu’s contributions in the field of cancer treatment by cryosurgery. Professor Xu also presented a copy of his new book “Cryosurgery for Cancer” to a delighted Dr. Sim who promised to translate the book into the Indonesian language and publish it in Indonesia in the shortest time possible.
